This Privacy Policy describes how Believer's Journal ("we," "us," or "our," accessible at believersjournal.com) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit or use the site. Believer's Journal is a personal project that aggregates and links to Christian content published on YouTube; it is not affiliated with YouTube or with the channels it features.
Information we collect
We collect the following:
- Account information. If you create an account or log in, we collect the email address you provide. Authentication is handled by our database provider, Supabase.
- Cookies and local storage. We use a cookie to keep you signed in between visits. If this site displays advertising (see "Advertising" below), Google and its advertising partners may also set cookies or use similar technologies in your browser.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, automatically logs information such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and performance purposes. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
We do not collect payment information, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Embedded YouTube videos
Videos on this site are embedded directly from YouTube. To limit unnecessary data sharing, the video player is not loaded when a page loads — only your click starts playback and loads YouTube's player. Once you choose to play a video, YouTube (operated by Google) may set its own cookies and collect data about that interaction under Google's Privacy Policy, which is separate from this one.
Advertising
This site may display advertising served through Google AdSense. When ads are shown, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, in order to provide advertising about goods and services that may interest you.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent banner before any ad-personalization cookies are set, letting you consent, decline, or manage your choices, in line with Google's EU User Consent Policy.
You can manage or opt out of personalized advertising at any time via:
- Google Ads Settings
- Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out (US)
- Your Online Choices (EU)
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working correctly; blocking advertising cookies will not affect the site's core functionality.
Data retention and your account
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see below).
Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
